A 40-year-old man accused of assaulting two relatives in their Derry Township home after walking naked through their neighborhood early Saturday was arrested hours later for allegedly kicking a state trooper.
James J. Zamerski of Pittsburgh was arrested by troopers twice in a span of three hours Saturday on multiple charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and simple assault after the incident that began at 4:23 a.m. at a home on the 200 block of Brinker Street, according to court documents.
Trooper Colin Harrer said he was dispatched to investigate an assault of two residents at the home by Zamerski, who was staying there. Harrer said the residents reported they were separately struck by Zamerski after they began talking to him as he returned from “walking naked through the neighborhood.”
Harrer said, when troopers arrived, Zamerski resisted arrest and it took three officers to get him into the police vehicle.
As Zamerski was being taken to the county prison to await arraignment, Trooper John Corna said in court documents that Zamerski began kicking the partition separating the front and back seats, causing nearly $300 in damage.
Trooper Shauntai Hall pulled off the road in the 100 block of Sheffield Drive in Salem Township to better secure Zamerski at about 7:30 a.m., when he kicked her twice in the chest and verbally threatened her, Corna wrote.
Hall had to use a Taser to subdue Zamerski, Corna said.
Zamerski, who is being held in the county prison after failing to post $50,000 bond, doesn’t have an attorney listed in online court records. He does not have a prior criminal record in Pennsylvania.
