A man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in Derry Township, the Westmoreland County coroner said.

Derek W. Skillings, 40, of the township, died of blunt force injuries when his southbound Dodge Caliber hit a tree after leaving the right side of Pandora Road at 2:20 p.m., Coroner Tim Carson said. The car overturned on the driver’s side, trapping him inside, according to state police

Troopers said it was unclear why the car left the road.

Skillings was not wearing a seat belt, the coroner said.

Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, the coroner said. The Bradenville fire department responded.
