A male was brought to Latrobe Area Hospital on Sunday with a gunshot wound, according to Latrobe police.

Detectives interviewed him at the hospital, but he was either unable or unwilling to provide details of the shooting, according to a post on the Latrobe police department’s Facebook page.

He was flown to a UPMC hospital via helicopter for treatment. Detectives obtained video from the Latrobe hospital and were able to identify the vehicle and the woman who had driven him to the emergency room.

Police determined that he was driven to the hospital from an apartment building within the city but the specific location of the shooting is unknown.

Police believe he was targeted and said there is no immediate threat to the public.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Det. Sgt. Wigand of the Latrobe Police Dept. at 724-537-5526, ext. 27, or to call Westmoreland County 911.
