Marino's American Eatery plans kitchen at Latrobe's Four Seasons Brewing Co.
Sometimes you just want a pizza or plate of wings to go with your beer.
The owners of Four Seasons Brewing Co. in Latrobe understand that and are working to satisfy customer cravings through a partnership with Marino’s American Eatery in Hempfield.
They want patrons to be able to stay for a whole evening, instead of downing a beer and then going elsewhere to eat.
“We’ve been working on getting a kitchen set up for about six months,” said Four Seasons owner Mark Pavlik. “We wanted to get someone local to come in and run it.
“I reached out to (Marino’s owner Josh Jones), because they’re all about craft beer and good food. They have our beer on tap there.”
Marino’s will open a limited-menu kitchen in the brewery at 745 Lloyd Ave. Extension, projected for a soft opening in mid-June. The kitchen’s grand opening will be June 25, on the final day of Greensburg Craft Beer Week, which begins June 17.
“We’ll be bringing in some of our staple items,” Jones said, along with dishes exclusive to the brewery. “We’ll ease our way into it and later add some more menu items.”
The initial offerings will include pub-grub favorites like Marino’s jumbo wings and sauerkraut cakes, along with other appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizzas from a wood-fired oven.
There also will be seasonal specials, like Oktoberfest-inspired dishes for September and a tribute to Cinco de Mayo in May.
“Our fish sandwiches have a big following during Lent,” Jones said. “We’ll be doing a fish fry on the last Friday of every month.”
Marino’s executive chef and co-owner Patrick Conway came up with the menu.
“I just asked that they bring in food that would match well with our beers,” Pavlik said.
The brewery and restaurant also have collaborated on a Smack Down India Pale Ale, which will debut at the grand opening.
Ordering and payment for food and beverages will be kept separate.
Diners will be able to order food using their smartphones via QR codes at the tables, or at a walk-up window. Beer orders will be taken at the bar, as usual.
“We’re going to make Four Seasons a dinner destination in Latrobe,” Jones said.
