A Monessen man was sentenced Monday to seven years in prison on drug and weapons charges, according to acting U.S. Attorney Stephen Kaufman.

Eric T. Emerson, 32, was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of narcotics and possession of firearms in connection with a March 2019 search warrant served at his home. Federal agents seized four firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and about 300 packets containing mixtures of heroin and fentanyl.

After his prison term, Emerson will remain on federal probation for six years. He is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, pending transfer to prison.
