A Monessen man died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday in Rostraver, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson.

Darren C. Snyder, 52, was walking in the area of 845 Rostraver Road in Rostraver around 6:30 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, Carson said.

Rostraver police said Snyder died at the scene. His death was ruled accidental, Carson said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, Rostraver police said. Police did not release the driver’s name or describe the vehicle.

Rostraver Road was closed for about two hours. The Rostraver Township Fire Department helped with traffic control.

State police, Monessen police and Rostraver West Newton Emergency Medical Service assisted.
