A Youngwood man was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital after being seriously injured Monday in a motorcycle crash along Route 381 in Donegal Township, state police reported.

Dennis M. Shoff, 68, injured his hip after he lost control of his 2020 Indian Scout motorcycle about 11:05 a.m., according to a police report. State police reported Shoff was northbound on the rural road and navigating an S-curve when he lost control, drove off the north side of the highway and struck a fence before landing in a field.

Police said he was airlifted from the scene to UPMC Presbyterian hospital.

Troopers reported Shoff was wearing a helmet. Police said he would be cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Chestnut Ridge Volunteer firefighters and Mutual Aid Ambulance assisted at the scene.
