A Mt. Pleasant man is accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old over 14 months, according to borough police.

Jarrod Rochat, 27, was charged Monday with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse causing serious bodily injury, indecent assault, corruption of minors and child endangerment.

Police said the child described during an interview this month a few instances between September 2018 and November when Rochat exposed himself and forced the child to touch him at a borough home and during a fishing trip. Troopers said Rochat had sexual intercourse with the child despite the child asking him to stop.

The child’s gender was removed from court papers released Tuesday.

Rochat is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bond. He did not have an attorney listed in online court papers. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 26.

Correction: Dec. 18, 2019

This story was modified to correct the police department involved in the arrest.
