A multi-vehicle accident Thursday night on an icy Route 30 bridge over Route 119 in South Greensburg closed of some of the road’s lanes.

The closure occurred between the Route 136 entrance ramp on the eastbound lanes and the westbound ramp at the Cedar Street entrance, according to dispatches from the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety.

Parts of the highway were reopened by 10 p.m.

No entrapment was reported among the people in the vehicles, which were involved in the crash on the Walworth Bridge carrying Route 30 over Route 119, according to the firefighters at the scene. The accident occurred shortly before 9 p.m., a Public Safety supervisor said.

Ambulances were dispatched to the scene, as well as the Greensburg state police.

As firefighters and police were dealing with that accident, there was a report of a multi-vehicle accident on Route 30 at the Tollgate Hill Bridge, just west of the Route 136 exit.

Additional details were not available.
