A South Huntingdon woman was killed and another motorist was injured when their cars collided Saturday morning on Route 30 in Ligonier Township.

Wilma H. Bradish, 81, was taken from the scene to Independence Health Latrobe Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by an emergency room physician, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson. He said the death was caused by blunt force trauma to the chest.

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m in the eastbound lanes of the highway, near the intersection of Route 259, according to Ligonier Valley Police.

Bradish, who was driving in the right lane, for an unknown reason crossed into the left lane, colliding with a Jeep Wrangler at an angle. The crash caused Bradish’s vehicle to roll over and trap her inside, according to police.

The occupant of the Jeep suffered minor injuries, police said. There were no other people involved.

The eastbound lanes of Route 30 were closed for several hours while a state police crash reconstruction team assisted with the investigation.
