Murrysville consumer advocate named to PUC advisory council

Murrysville consumer advocate Mary Bach has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s Consumer Advisory Council.

Bach was one of five new members appointed by the PUC on Thursday. The council meets every other month and advises the PUC commissioners on issues important to utility customers. Members serve on a volunteer basis.

Bach, 74, is chairwoman of the AARP Pennsylvania Consumer Issues Task Force and speaks to more than 100 groups a year about fraud awareness. Her video series “Outsmarting the Scammers with Mary Bach” appears on YouTube.

Also appointed on Thursday was Pittsburgh native Justin Udo, a reporter at KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia. He was nominated by Lt. Gov. John Fetterman.

The members will serve through June 30, 2021.
