In-person appointments will no longer be required beginning Sept. 28 at the Murrysville Community Library, but staff will keep capacity low to maintain health and safety, as they expand the library’s hours.

The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Visitors are asked to wear masks and limit their time inside to one hour, according to library officials.

“Children 2 years of age and under are not required to wear a face covering,” library Director Amy Riegner and library board President Susan Long wrote in a letter to patrons. “For those that cannot wear a face covering due to a medical condition, we will offer use of a library-provided face shield or a curbside appointment.”

In addition, automatic hold notifications from the Westmoreland Library Network will resume.

Items can continue to be returned through the outside book drop, and they are still quarantined for 72 hours before being checked back in and returned to circulation.
