Murrysville man accused of possessing child porn
A 45-year-old Murrysville man is accused by state police of downloading dozens of images of child pornography to his home computer.
Daniel E. Bozym Jr. is charged with 28 counts of possession of child pornography and single counts of possessing photographs of a child performing a sex act and criminal use of a communication facility. He was arraigned on the charges before Export District Judge Charles R. Conway.
Troopers with the state police computer crimes unit investigating the sharing of child pornography on the internet allegedly traced the downloading of pornographic files to a Comcast subscription owned by Bozym at his residence on Carriage Drive. The downloads occurred from September through December of 2018, according to court documents.
Trooper Matthew Haslett reported at least one of the videos depicted a young girl appearing to be between 7 and 10 years old involved in a sex act.
During the investigation, troopers seized Bozym’s computer and Haslett reported multiple files containing multiple images of child pornography were located on a hard drive.
Bozym could not be reached for comment and an attorney was not listed in court documents.
The complaints were served via mailed summons by Conway’s office. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Aug. 18.
