A Murrysville man was ordered Monday to serve up to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possession and dissemination of child pornography.
Prosecutors said Kevin M. Hullenbaugh, 32, had a sexual relationship from October 2023 through mid July 2024 with two 16-year-old girls. According to court records Hullenbaugh recorded and distributed video of the encounters.
Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Mears imposed terms of a negotiated plea deal that calls for Hullenbaugh to serve 18 months to four years in prison and an additional six years on probation.
Hullenbaugh, who had been free on bail, was ordered to immediately begin serving his sentence.
He pleaded guilty to five felony counts including child pornography and unlawful contact with minors. He was not charged with additional sex crimes related to his relationship with the teens. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Ranger said that according to state law the age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16 and the teens insisted the sexual relationship with Hullenbaugh was consensual.
According to court records, charges against Hullenbaugh were filed after the mother of one of the teens found sex videos on her daughter’s phone. Police said a distinctive tattoo enabled them to identify Hullenbaugh in the videos.
“One of the victims previously testified in court that it was a consensual act and was unhappy the defendant was going to state prison,” Ranger said.
She said the plea deal includes a provision that prohibits prosecutors from filing additional charges against Hullenbaugh related to so far unsubstantiated allegations he had improper sexual relations with the teens before they turned 16.
