The Westmoreland Jewish Community Council, part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, is helping people in area shelters keep their feet warm this winter by collecting donations of new socks for its “Hose for the Toes” project.

The new sock drive will continue through Jan. 3, said Rabbi Emerita Sara Perman of Greensburg.

Donors can leave the socks at Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate office at 4936 Route 30, Suite 205, Unity, or at the Rose Style Shoppe, 906 Ligonier St., Latrobe.

The Jewish Community Council will distribute the socks to the Blackburn Center, a women’s shelter in Greensburg, and to Union Mission, a men’s shelter on Harrison Avenue in Latrobe.
