A New Stanton woman who has been charged 11 times since September with making false alarm calls to 911 allegedly made her 40th unnecessary call to the dispatch center — one that landed her in the county jail, according to state police.

Twandrea N. Brown, 33, who is awaiting hearings Feb. 24 on several prior complaints filed by troopers for making 39 unnecessary calls since Sept. 9 to the county’s 911 center, was arraigned Friday after her arrest for making another false emergency call from her residence in New Stanton Manor just after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Trooper Tony Anthony said in court documents that, when he arrived at Brown’s residence, “(Brown) related she had no real emergency but made the hangup call.”

Anthony confiscated Brown’s cell phone containing her call history, according to court documents.

He noted in court documents that troopers had to make emergency responses to 31 of the false alarms she made because they were hangup calls “with no real emergency.” Troopers have reported that sometimes when they get to Brown’s residence she refuses to answer the door or answer her phone, according to court documents.

In addition to making false alarms, Brown also is charged with possessing an instrument of crime and disorderly conduct for “creating a potentially hazardous physical condition that serves no legitimate purpose” for making false alarms.

District Judge Charles Moore ordered Brown held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $2,000 bond.

Brown could not be reached for comment and did not have an attorney listed in court documents.
