A state senator who traveled to Arizona to see a private company recount votes in the presidential election that Donald Trump lost is scheduled to speak to a group in North Huntingdon on July 18.
State Sen. Doug Mastriano, R-Franklin County, is planning to speak at the Audit The Vote event from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Antonelli Event Center, 100 Colony Drive.
He will be joined by the founders of Audit the Vote: Jamie Sheffield of Aliquippa, Karen Taylor of Lower Burrell, and Toni Shuppe of Baden.
The cost of the luncheon is $23.
Mastriano, rumored to be running for governor next year, has supported efforts for the state to conduct an audit of the 2020 presidential vote in Pennsylvania, which Trump also lost.
Mastriano marched at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, but said he left before Trump supporters attacked police and rioted inside the Capitol building.
Patriots 4 Action, a Westmoreland County political action group founded by Susanna DeJeet, is sponsoring the event.
