North Huntingdon’s unionized public works employees will get pay raises ranging from 25 cents per hour next year to 95 cents per hour in 2026 under terms of a new agreement the township ratified.

The five-year contract with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) covers 35 public works employees. It takes effect Jan. 1, and expires Dec. 31, 2026, said Michael Turley, acting township manager.

The contract approved by township commissioners raises wages by 65 cents an hour in 2023; 75 cents an hour in 2024; 85 cents an hour in 2025; and then 95 cents an hour in 2026.

The new contract replaces a pact that began in January 2017.
