North Huntingdon OKs plans for Kenny Ross Mazda dealership move
North Huntingdon officials have approved site plans for a new Kenny Ross Mazda dealership along Route 30 that will be built adjacent to Kenny Ross Subaru.
Township commissioners also approved plans to consolidate two parcels on the site, which previously was a nursing home, across an alley from the existing Kenny Ross Mazda dealership.
The new Kenny Ross Mazda building will be on the far side of Kenny Ross Subaru’s inventory lot, said Carley Painter, marketing director for Kenny Ross Automotive. The dealership hopes to break ground early in the second quarter, Painter said.
Plans for moving the Kenny Ross Mazda dealership changed last year when the business came under new ownership, Ryan Fonzi, township planning director, told the commissioners recently.
The new Miami Lakes, Fla.-based ownership group purchased property that includes the site of the new dealership, for $8.45 million in September 2020, according to documents filed with the Westmoreland County Recorder of Deeds.
“We will retain the existing Mazda service facility on Taylor Road, but have not finalized any future plans for the existing (Mazda) Route 30 showroom,” Painter said. The dealership is working with the township officials “to find an outcome for the old dealership that makes everyone happy.”
