Two multi-tenant buildings planned for the Huntingdon Marketplace mixed-use retail complex in North Huntingdon got a stamp of approval Monday from the township planning commission.

The group recommended for approval two 6,887-square-foot buildings along Mills Drive that Colony Holding Co. intends to build across the road from the Walmart store. The recommendation, which will be forwarded to the township commissioners, is contingent upon the plans undergoing a final review from Donald Housely, township engineer.

Donald Tarosky Jr., a partner in Colony Holding, said the buildings could accommodate three or four tenants, depending on the demand for space.

The buildings probably will not be constructed until the summer of 2022, Tarosky said.

The commission also recommended approval of plans for a new location for Bella Construction Co. at 14710-14712-14714 Route 30.

Bella Construction wants to put up an additional building on the property and a detached garage.

The recommendation is contingent upon a final review by Housely.
