Retired Army Col. Kenneth Gongaware, a Norwin High School graduate, is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the Veterans Day ceremonies hosted by the J. Howard Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 781 in North Huntingdon at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the post.

The post’s new commander, Navy veteran Kory A. Bulloch, will make the introductions.

The VFW Post honor guard will fire a “volley” for the post’s departed comrades. The post is named after J. Howard Snyder, who was the first soldier from Irwin who was killed in World War I.

The public is invited to the ceremonies and a luncheon will follow the event.
