An Allegheny County man pleaded guilty Wednesday to repeatedly raping a teenage girl in 2019.

Police said that starting in June 2019, Daniel E. Powell, 37, of North Versailles forcibly raped a 17-year-old girl and continued the sexual assaults through September.

According to court records, the victim in February told investigators at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg that Powell forced her into “unwanted” sexual activity when he grabbed her arms and pinned her down at homes in North Versailles and Hempfield.

The case was prosecuted in Westmoreland County.

Powell pleaded guilty to felony counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, child endangerment and a related offense.

Powell, who was charged in May, will remain free on a $25,000 unsecured bond until he is sentenced by Common Pleas Court Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio in about three months.
