A Westmoreland County commissioner, a minister, a nursing professor, a local businessman and past and present school administrators will be recognized next month as distinguished alumni of Norwin High School.

The six honorees are: Commissioner Ted Kopas, Westmoreland County Community College nursing professor Rebecca Gediminskas, Norwin assistant superintendent Tim Kotch, Calvary Church ministry leader the Rev. John A. Tirpak Jr., Irwin area businessman George S. Koury Jr., and former Norwin principal R. Neil Faust, who died in 2006.

The group will be honored May 23 at the third annual Knight of Distinguished Alumni Dinner at Stratigos Banquet Centre in North Huntingdon. The event is sponsored by the Norwin Alumni and Friends Association and the Norwin School District Community Foundation.

Those interested in attending need to make reservations by May 10. Tickets are $37 per person, which includes a buffet dinner.
