The Norwin Meals on Wheels program will halt deliveries of its daily meals Wednesday for an indefinite period because of the spread of the new coronavirus, an official for the group said.

The food service delivery program, based out of New Hope Presbyterian Church in North Huntingdon, provides nutritious meals to about 65 people each weekday, said Clint Page, a Meals on Wheels official.

“It was tough decision” to suspend the program, Page said.

He noted volunteers will be able to use the remaining fresh food by the time deliveries are stopped.

“It won’t be wasted,” Page said.
