Norwin promotes covid vaccine clinics

Norwin students 12 and older and school district residents will be able to get a free covid vaccine before school starts Sept. 8 by making an appointment at Excela Square at Norwin Medical Commons in North Huntingdon.

To be fully vaccinated, two doses of the Pfizer shot will be administered three weeks apart. A second appointment will be scheduled upon receiving the first dose.

Among the available appointment dates and times for the initial dose are noon to 4 p.m. July 22, 8 a.m. to noon July 29, noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 and noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 6.

An appointment can be made online at https://www.excelahealth.org/coronavirus-information/covid-19-vaccine-information/.

Those without computer access may call 724-689-1690 from 8 a.m. to noon Mondays through Fridays to schedule an appointment.

An immunization consent form will need to be completed by the vaccine recipients. Those younger than 18 must have their consent form filled out by a parent or guardian. The form can be found at https://www.excelahealth.org/coronavirus-information/covid-19-vaccine-information/.

Parents and guardians may accompany their children younger than 18 to the clinic. Students and family members are asked to bring a state-issued identification.

Those who have medical and prescription insurance should bring their card. The shots also are available to individuals without insurance.
