The Norwin Alumni & Friends Association is seeking nominations by Feb. 1 for the Distinguished Alumni Award to be presented at the third annual Knight of Distinguished Alumni Recognition Dinner on May 23 at the Stratigos Banquet Center, North Huntingdon.

To be eligible for the award a person must have graduated from a Norwin area public school in 2008 or earlier, such as the Irwin or North Huntingdon schools. They must have shown post high school academic and, or, career excellence and service to the community through volunteerism. The person must be of exemplary character and show they have gone above and beyond to distinguish themselves from other Norwin area graduates.

Norwin community members — those connected to Norwin in ways such as an alumni, faculty member, friend or resident — can nominate no more than two alums who fulfill the criteria by completing the nomination form online at nsdcf.org.

The Norwin Alumni board of directors will reach out to the nominated alumnus for additional information in support of their nomination. Plaques in their honor will become a part of the Wall of Distinguished Alumni in Norwin High School.

To nominate a candidate by the 4 p.m. Feb. 1 deadline, contact Lauren Steiner, NAFA nominating committee chair, via email at lauren.steiner11@gmail.com.

Nomination forms and supporting documents can also be mailed to NAFA, 281 McMahon Drive, North Huntingdon, PA 15642.
