Norwin officials plan to reveal at Monday’s school board meeting the district’s plans for evaluating how to transition from its hybrid model of two days in school and three days of online learning to either fully in class five days a week or to a completely remote online learning model.

Superintendent Jeff Taylor said in a statement Friday that he will update the school board and community regarding the hybrid operational model that is being used and implementing any plans to transition to a different education model.

The changes in state mandates, regulations, and guidelines “on almost a weekly basis” impact how school districts make operational decisions, Taylor said.

Taylor said he will discuss the characteristics of each of the three operational models as well as sharing plans for how Norwin will react to one or more confirmed positive cases of covid-19 inside any of the schools.

The meeting, as has been the case the past several months, will be conducted over the internet. Those interested can access the meeting through the school district’s Facebook page. For those interested in commenting during the meeting, the district asks residents to use Google Form, also available under Recent News on the school website, to register for public comment prior to the meeting.
