The Penn Area Library will “explore the universe” with its summer reading program, running from June 3 to July 27.
The summer reading program is open to anyone with a library card, or whose parents have a card. It is divided into four categories:
• Read to Me Club, for youngsters age 7 and younger
• Summer Reading Club, ages 8 through 12
• Teen Reading Club, ages 13 through 17
• Adult Reading Club
The family story hour at the library at 2001 Municipal Court, Harrison City, will be held throughout the summer reading program. The library is planning fun and educational events reflecting this year’s theme, “A Universe of Stories.”
The library will hold an end-of-summer reading party planned for July 31.
Participants must come into the library to register and can begin reading and recording once they are registered. The first completed logs will be accepted on June 17.
Registrations for library events may be done on the event keeper on the library website at www.pennlib.org. Sign-up sheets also will be posted in the library one week before each event.
Calendars will be available at the library upon registration. Parents can register their children for individual programs on-line, by telephone at 724-744-4414, or in person.
