Penn Township author to discuss self-publishing

Penn Township author Leslie Savisky will offer tips on how to self-publish books during a program Thursday at the Penn Area Library, 2001 Municipal Court, Harrison City.

Savisky is a freelance writer for Pittsburgh Parent magazine and the Monroeville Times Express. She is the author of the self-published novels, “Other People’s Words,” “Almost Too Late” and “These Broken Pieces.”

Savisky will discuss her writing and self-publishing journey, an overview of Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and IngramSpark, which are websites and apps to help a person in their creative journey. She’s also discuss how to market a book and gain exposure as an independent author, as well as the pros and cons of self-publishing.

The free event, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will be a roundtable discussion. Savisky will have copies of her books for sale.
