A 34-year-old Derry man faces drug charge after authorities say they seized 13 pounds of marijuana, $2,000 and drug paraphernalia hidden throughout his house.

Anthony Gigliotti was arrested after a search of his East Second Avenue home late Thursday.

Sgt. James Friscarella and his police dog assisted members of the state Attorney General’s Drug Task Force and county detectives serving the search warrant.

Police reported as soon as they entered the house “there was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the residence.”

Documents filed with Derry District Judge Mark Bilik indicate the dog located several pounds of marijuana hidden at locations throughout the kitchen and living room. The dog then searched an upstairs master bedroom, where a few more marijuana was discovered, the report said.

According to the report, the dog also found marijuana hidden in the attic.

Police also say they seized a digital scale and marijuana packaging materials.

Gigliotti is charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was ordered Friday to the county jail on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled June 24 before Bilik.
