A South Huntingdon woman who was ordered not to have contact with a baby is accused of having the child at her home last month, according to state police.
Elizabeth Ann Hart, 22, is charged with child endangerment and harassment.
Troopers investigating a 911 hang up call Jan. 8 on Highway Street, Yukon, found numerous broken or missing windows, “bugs crawling on the walls” and garbage and clothing piled around the house, according to court papers filed Friday. Investigators said two children, ages 5 and 7 months, were there even though Hart was forbidden from having contact with the baby.
Hart told troopers that her caseworker was lying and that she was permitted to have supervised visits with the child, according to court papers. Troopers said that was false after checking with the children’s bureau.
Hart reported that she and her mother’s boyfriend, Jason Michael Welch, 42, had gotten into an argument and he pushed her before leaving, according to court papers.
Welch and Tara Lei Hart, 48, also face child endangerment and harassment charges. The Harts are mother and daughter. Tara Hart also was charged with providing police false identification.
Elizabeth Hart was arrested on child endangerment and false reports charges in October in connection with an alleged assault on a 3-year-old girl. Police said the girl had a patterned burn on her right buttock, leg bruising and a missing tooth. Hart is scheduled for plea court on April 1 in that case.
She and Welch are free on their own recognizance. Preliminary hearings are set for March 4. They couldn’t be reached.
