The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Department along with police in North Huntingdon, Penn Township and Murrysville are participating in the federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The departments will take unused, unwanted or old pills and liquids at the following locations.

• Sheriff’s department: Walmart store, 6700 Hollywood Blvd., Murrysville.

• Penn Township police: Penn-Zion Lutheran Church, 3417 Route 130, Harrison City.

• Murrysville police department: Police headquarters at 4170 Sardis Road.

• North Huntingdon police: Dropoff box at the department lobby at 11279 Center Highway.

No needles or EPI Pens will be accepted, said North Huntingdon Det. Tom Harris.

The DEA will collect the medications that are dropped off with law enforcement and destroy them, Harris said.
