An Ohio man was found in a North Huntingdon motel Wednesday with marijuana, a gun and a 16-year-old girl who had been reported missing, according to court papers.
Robert Easley, 40, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, drug possession, corruption of minors and related offenses. He was being held without bail at the Westmoreland County Prison.
Township police said they were notified after 10 a.m. Wednesday by officers in Hopewell Township (Beaver County) that the missing girl may be staying in a room at Hiland Terrace Motel with Easley. Authorities said they found both Easley and the girl there.
When Easley pushed a pile of clothing on the bed to sit down, police said they spotted a handgun and grabbed it, holding Easley at gunpoint while he was handcuffed, according to court papers. A past felony conviction in Michigan prohibits him from possessing a firearm.
The girl was reunited with a guardian and told police that Easley asked her to package marijuana for him to sell, according to court papers.
During a search warrant, police said they seized 73 grams of marijuana, $345, ammunition, digital scales and other items. Easley did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A June 29 preliminary hearing is set.
