A house fire was reported on North Third Street in Jeannette Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

State police have determined that a fire at a vacant home in Jeannette Tuesday afternoon was intentionally set.

Firefighters were called to 133 N. Third St. just before 1 p.m. and found heavy fire in the back of the second floor that had moved into the attic, fire Chief Bill Frye previously told the Tribune-Review.

Flames were coming out of the windows of the two-story home when firefighters arrived, he said. Only a few feet on either side separated the structure from neighboring homes.

Damages are estimated at $15,000.

Anyone with information about the arson is asked to call Jeannette police at 724-527-4013.
