Police: Greensburg man pulled woman out of wheelchair, punched her
A Greensburg man is free on bail after police said he pulled a woman from her wheelchair and attacked her, according to court papers.
Todd James Slate, 32, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 25 in connection with the accusations.
Police reported that Slate was fighting with the woman at 11:30 p.m. June 20 at a Bach Avenue home. The woman, who police said has a disability, and a witness told investigators that Slate pulled her backwards out of her wheelchair and she hit her head on the floor. Slate allegedly punched her in the face and authorities reported she had a swollen lip, according to court papers.
He is charged with simple assault and harassment. He is free on $5,000 bail. Slate did not have an attorney listed in online court records. He could not immediately be reached.
