Police: Greensburg man shot at neighbors' homes through attic window
A Greensburg man was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison without bail after police said he shot at two neighbors’ homes from the attic of his apartment.
Joshua Aaron Dowell-Miller, 26, is charged with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Police were called to a Harrison Avenue apartment Friday morning after a resident reported three rounds had been fired into his home, according to court papers. Two rounds hit walls in the bedroom and kitchen and the third shattered the door of the oven.
Two bullet holes were found in the siding of another home. Police said no one was hurt.
Investigators were led to a second-floor apartment at 215 Harrison Ave. after finding two bullet holes in the siding and one .22-caliber round lying on the sidewalk, according to court papers. Inside the attic, police found a rifle and box of .22-caliber rounds.
“(Dowell-Miller) then admitted that he intentionally shot both of his neighbors’ homes with the rifle,” Detective John Swank wrote in the complaint.
During a search of Dowell-Miller’s apartment, police seized two .22-caliber rifles, the box of ammunition and shell casings on the windowsills of the attic windows.
Dowell-Miller did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.
