A Salem Township man started off 2019 in jail after state police said he hit two people with a baseball bat at a New Year’s Eve party in Hempfield.
Adam James Daniels, 26, showed up at a get-together at Sinister Muscle Cars on Forbes Trail Road at 2 a.m. Tuesday along with about 50 people, including his ex-girlfriend, according to police.
A message left Wednesday at the business was not returned.
Troopers arrived early New Year’s Day to find two Latrobe men were lying in the parking lot surrounded by a pool of blood, police reported in court documents. Both were taken to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.
Witnesses told police Daniels arrived and starting pushing party-goers before taking a baseball bat outside and allegedly hitting the two victims, both of Latrobe.
The victims told police they both tried to intervene when a fight broke out. One victim had a broken nose, orbital bone and tooth, troopers reported. The other victim had an eye swollen shut.
Daniels is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $150,000 bail.
A Jan. 15 preliminary hearing is set. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
