Police: Man drove under the influence in Rostraver with child in car
An Allegheny County man is accused by state police of driving under the influence with a child in the car, according to court papers.
Patrick John Skrinjorich, 36, of Jefferson Borough, was driving on a suspended license, police said.
He is charged with child endangerment, drug possession, driving under the influence and related offenses.
Skrinjorich was driving on Route 981 in Rostraver on June 7 when a trooper pulled him over because the registered owner of the Honda Civic he was driving was the subject of an arrest warrant, according to court papers. Police said he smelled of alcohol and there was a smoking device in the car’s center console.
Skrinjorich told troopers he drank alcohol and smoked marijuana earlier in the day, according to court papers. Troopers seized glass crack pipes, prescription pills, two stamp bags of heroin. One of the pipes was in a box of children’s toys in the truck, police said.
He was taken into custody on a warrant out of Fayette County. A summons was issued last week and a preliminary arraignment and hearing are set for Sept. 28. Skrinjorich didn’t have an attorney listed in online court records.
