A Plum man is being held at the Westmoreland County Prison after police said he rammed his wife’s vehicle in Penn Township on Sunday, causing her to lose control and almost hit another motorist, according to court papers.

Robert Frank Stampo, 43, is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and related charges.

Township police said the car the woman was driving had damage from the rear to the passenger side door.

Officers were called to Denmark Manor Road at 4 p.m. The woman told investigators she was driving on Manor Harrison City Road when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by her husband, according to court papers.

Stampo allegedly hit her vehicle numerous times on Harrison City Export Road, nearly pushing her car into oncoming traffic, before she turned onto Denmark Manor Road and Stampo stopped following her, police said.

Authorities arrested Stampo at his home. He told a relative he was “playing bumper cars,” according to a criminal complaint.

Stampo was being held on $50,000 bail. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A July 9 preliminary hearing is set.
