Pennsylvania State Police said a Unity man was arrested Wednesday for sexually assaulting a young girl over a seven-year span.

Police said Clarence J. Wallace, 74, was first accused in May 2022, with the victim telling police she was between 8 and 14 when they happened, according to court papers.

Investigators said they compared samples of DNA obtained from Wallace and the accuser to evidence found on items that were seized from Wallace’s home. Wallace could not be excluded as a contributor to that evidence and the accuser’s DNA was found on the items, according to court papers. The DNA comparison was finished in April.

Wallace posted $100,000 bail Thursday after his arrest on rape of a child and related charges.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 30.
