State police are looking for a man who performed a quick change scam at the East Huntingdon Walmart and got $1,000.

State police are looking for a man who they said turned a water bottle purchase into a $1,000 theft at the East Huntingdon Walmart in a quick-change scam.

Troopers released a surveillance image of the suspect on Thursday. They said he scammed the cashier on July 10 out of $1,000 while she was making change for the purchase at the store off Route 819, not far from Route 119.

The suspect was wearing a red ball cap and gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to call state police in Greensburg at 724-832-3288.

Quick-change scammers typically attempt to confuse or distract cashiers and use cash to exchange money in an effort to shortchange the store.
