A 24-year-old woman was taken for a mental health evaluation Wednesday after she reportedly was threatening others and breaking into homes in Salem Township, according to state police.
Brianna Renee Waibel of Murrysville allegedly was using a knife and broken glass bottle to threaten people on Forbes Trail Drive at 1 a.m. Troopers said she broke into several homes there and took a phone from one of them.
Police from Washington Township located her screaming and holding a silver object in the backyard of a home. Troopers said officers deployed a Taser and she was transported to Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
Waibel was charged Thursday with criminal mischief, theft, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, false identification and other offenses. She had not been arraigned on the charges.
