Jennifer Filak was appointed new principal of Queen of Angels Catholic School in North Huntingdon.

Jennifer Filak will return to Queen of Angels Catholic School in North Huntingdon as the principal, succeeding Sandra Stonebraker, effective July 1.

Filak, of Pittsburgh, began her Catholic education career at Queen of Angels in 1999 as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher.

For the past 14 years, she was a pre-kindergarten and first-grade teacher, assistant director of early childhood programs and assistant head of The Campus Laboratory School of Carlow University in Pittsburgh.

Filak could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

Filak is a parishioner of St. Maurice Parish in Pittsburgh and former parishioner of St. Barbara Parish in Harrison City.

“I really believe in leading by our faith,” Filak said in a statement. “My job is to make sure God’s presence and grace are reflective in all of my interactions with students, families, teachers and the community.”

She said she is “looking forward” to returning to Queen of Angels.

“It feels like I never left,” Filak said. “I am looking forward to using my knowledge and experience in Catholic education to help the school continue to grow. I am so blessed.”
