Officials found and captured a rabid cat in Rostraver this week.
The animal was found in the 4200 block of Route 51.
Anyone who has been bitten or scratched by the cat should call either the Westmoreland County State Health Center at 724-832-5315, or the state Department of Health at 1-877-724-3254.
All residents living nearby are encouraged to ensure their pets’ rabies vaccines are up-to-date, because other animals in the area could develop rabies.
