Four raptors are expected to be at the Norwin Public Library on Thursday as part of a program on their importance to the ecosystem.

Talon Talk will be presented by Nature’s Educators of Florence, Colo., at 6 p.m. at the library, 100 Caruthers Lane, Irwin. Members of the nonprofit wildlife education organization are expected to bring four of the birds to the library, said Krista Brown, children’s librarian.

Participants will learn what it takes to care for a bird of prey and how Nature’s Educators are permitted to keep raptors. The program is for those age 16 and older.

A live virtual tour of the Henry Ford Museum for American Innovation in Dearborn, Mich., will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 10. The museum honoring Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Co., has created a collection that tells stories of ordinary and extraordinary people involved in American history.

Among the exhibits are the chair on which Abraham Lincoln was sitting when he was assassinated in April 1865 in Washington, D.C., and the bus in which Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat in Montgomery, Ala., in December 1955, sparking a bus boycott in the Civil Rights battle. The museum also has the 1961 Lincoln Continental limousine in which President John F. Kennedy was riding when he was shot in Dallas on Nov, 22, 1963.

The programs are free, but registration is requested. Contact the library at 724-863-4700, ext. 3, or visit www.norwinpubliclibrary.net.
