A Cambria County man is accused of inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at a New Florence home in November, according to court papers.

David Alan Heming, 57, of Johnstown, was arrested by Westmoreland County detectives Monday on charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors.

The girl told investigators that, on Nov. 4, Heming touched her and put her hand on his genitals. During an April 30 interview, Heming admitted the incident to investigators, according to court papers.

He is registered as a sex offender in North Carolina in connection with a 2004 conviction on a charge of indecent liberty with a minor. Heming was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 29. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
