Diapers and other baby necessities will be distributed to needy families Friday in Hempfield by a local nonprofit.

Beverly’s Birthdays is supporting babies around the Pittsburgh area whose parents and caregivers are struggling with supplies because of the coronavirus pandemic. Supplies available during the distribution include diapers, wipes, formula, baby food and hygiene products.

Registration is required online at babiesintheburghwc.eventbrite.com or at 724-590-5106 because spaces are limited. It will take place in the Achieva parking lot at 316 Donohoe Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants are being asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Beverly’s Birthdays is a North Huntingdon-based nonprofit that provides birthday parties for children whose families are homeless or in need. The organization also helps new parents and parents-to-be with supplies in other ways.

During the pandemic, the organization started distributing supplies to families in need with help from several local businesses, agencies and donors, according to a news release.
