A resident was able to escape a burning Murrysville home Thursday morning, according to White Valley Fire Chief John Bohinc.

The blaze on Sinan Drive, a rural road near Murrysville Community Park, was reported around 9 a.m.

Bohinc said there were flames through the roof in the rear corner of the home when firefighters arrived.

Much of the roof appeared to be damaged about an hour after the blaze was reported, and firefighters from several companies dealt with smoky conditions.

Murrysville police are investigating.
