Friends and family of a North Huntingdon chiropractor who was killed in his office in November are offering a reward for information about his death.
Attorney Dan Beisler said the last six months have been frustrating for the loved ones of 54-year-old David S. Bailey.
“We’re trying to encourage someone to come forward who knows something,” he said.
An employee discovered Bailey’s body the morning of Nov. 29 inside his Parkway Drive office, 30 minutes before it opened. Police ruled the death a homicide, but still have not said publicly how he died. No information was available from the coroner’s office Tuesday. Police Chief Robert Rizzo declined to comment on the investigation.
No charges have been filed.
Beisler, a friend of Bailey’s, said 12 families have pledged money for the reward. A digital billboard on Route 30 near the Irwin interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike urges anyone with information to call township police. Beisler declined to say how much the reward is worth.
Bailey’s family has been in contact with police as the investigation continues, but answers have been few.
“It has been frustrating,” Beisler said. “The family feels like, by now, the DNA results should be back.”
Bailey was killed on the morning of Black Friday. Beisler said there may have been motorists passing by who noticed something out of the ordinary that could be pertinent to the investigation.
Investigators initially didn’t release any information about Bailey’s death. They spent several days conducting an autopsy and reviewing evidence before waiting until Dec. 4 to publicly call it a homicide.
The billboard has been up for two weeks. Rizzo said Tuesday police hadn’t received any new tips and the department supported establishing the reward.
Beisler said he hopes the offer will encourage someone who has information to come forward. He asked anyone who has been reluctant to think about what Bailey’s family has been going through.
“This is just an ongoing, 24-hour nightmare,” he said.
Bailey was a 1983 Norwin Senior High School graduate, according to his obituary. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
Anyone with information about his death is asked to call township police at 724-863-8800.
