River City Brass will join forces with student musicians for a holiday concert Dec. 13 at Greater Latrobe Senior High School.

Greater Latrobe band and choral students will perform along with members of the Pittsburgh brass band at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium for the Home for the Holidays concert.

Formed in 1981, the 28-piece River City Brass ensemble is known for a style that combines serious musical chops with a lighthearted approach to many of its numbers. In addition to traditional marches, RCB’s repertoire encompasses American standards, Big Band swing and jazz, music from Broadway and Hollywood and classical and contemporary works.

The band has released more than a dozen recordings including “Christmas Brasstacular,” “Proud To Be American,” “Celtic Connections” and “Polished Brass,” which features classically-flavored selections.

Tickets for the “Home for the Holidays” concert cost $25 and may be purchased online at ticketsource.us/greater-latrobe-partners-in-education-foundation or at the auditorium lobby, between 6 and 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday .

The concert is sponsored by the Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation, with proceeds benefiting district arts programs.
